I agree. I'm still waiting for someone to let me know the knife I shipped to them in Japan got there. Since it has been months, I'm pretty sure it did, but it would have been nice to hear from the buyer. Nowadays, I always use the Delivery Confirmation, but it is still nice to hear from the person shipped to.

I do that within a FEW minutes of receipt of an item...That is simply the only way to conduct business, and I always expect the same.

Good way to put it! I do agree with Charlie though that a delivery/confirmation number is the way to go. If they don't let you know, at least you have proof that it was delivered. By the way, some dealers are the WORST at letting you know if they receive a knife. Funny, because they ALWAYS want to know if YOU receive a knife from them!

How about we take this a step further.First off it's just plain common respect to let someone know that everything arrived and all is well on your end but how about if I'm selling a knife or what have you, that means that I WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY. Take a moment to let me know that you received the goods and everything is ok and vice-a versa!!! If you are one of these people that doesn't understand common respect,YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, then you just plain BLOW !!! Please respect eachother and practice common courtesy
I think it's common courtesy to respond to emails too - I've sent emails to some forumites who don't bother responding at all. even if it's to say that they can't help me out with my query or no thanks for my offer. well, what goes around comes around - it may happen to them in the future....
