I brought this up several months ago but it deserves repeating. PLEASE let people know when a knife or a payment is received! Most folks here are respectful about this but there are still some that aren't. To all of us that worry about such things, it's important! Thank you.

I agree. I'm still waiting for someone to let me know the knife I shipped to them in Japan got there. Since it has been months, I'm pretty sure it did, but it would have been nice to hear from the buyer. Nowadays, I always use the Delivery Confirmation, but it is still nice to hear from the person shipped to.

I do that within a FEW minutes of receipt of an item...That is simply the only way to conduct business, and I always expect the same.

Well, it would be nice if everybody did, but they don't, so use delivery confirmation from whichever shipper you use.

HDCharlie - knowing that it was delivered isn't quite the same as getting an email saying:

"Everything is A-OK on this end, love the knife and thanks for the deal".

Architect,
Good way to put it! I do agree with Charlie though that a delivery/confirmation number is the way to go. If they don't let you know, at least you have proof that it was delivered. By the way, some dealers are the WORST at letting you know if they receive a knife. Funny, because they ALWAYS want to know if YOU receive a knife from them!

It's the worst when you mail something out of the country and can't get something such as delivery confirmation. I sent off a couple knives to Canada over two weeks ago and never heard back from buyer. :(

How about we take this a step further.First off it's just plain common respect to let someone know that everything arrived and all is well on your end but how about if I'm selling a knife or what have you, that means that I WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY. Take a moment to let me know that you received the goods and everything is ok and vice-a versa!!! If you are one of these people that doesn't understand common respect,YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, then you just plain BLOW !!! Please respect eachother and practice common courtesy;)

I think it's common courtesy to respond to emails too - I've sent emails to some forumites who don't bother responding at all. even if it's to say that they can't help me out with my query or no thanks for my offer. well, what goes around comes around - it may happen to them in the future....
