Getting Jiggy with it .

Yea, I'd like to know more about this too. How do you stain bone? I've heard you guys talk of scorching it, but is there any other way. Will it take regular analine stains?
 
I would assume the dry bone would stain pretty easily, but that's just a guess. I know i can "age" antler with a little wood or leather stain. looks pretty sharp, and if it has poly in it, i would assume that it seals it up nicely as well. Once again, just a big fat ol' guess.

Bone takes stain pretty well. I stained an antler JKM with leather dye. Yvsa says you can soak bone & antler in instant tea and get a good color. I suspect regular tea (not hot) would work too.

As to the jigging, I'm not sure how it's done.

Tea. Interesting. I wonder if cofee would work....
 
I just finished staining pale hardwood using coffee. It comes out a nice golden colour.
 
Az, ??? I don't know what that means.
 
If you soak B&W pictures in tea, they will acquire a pleasing brown patina.
