I don't agree with that at all. You haven't given any indication that you are surrendering them.

I, as an officer, would rather retrieve them myself though.
 
wow this is the first nice cop story ive heard i always hear from my friends that the cops took their knives and their wallet or just take money and hand them over the wallet and stuff
