I am wanting to do a few shows this year and am looking for advice on getting ready and x amount of knives to hold out for a show. i know i have heard that its not a good idea to pack your table with knives and to only have a hand full but how many is that. I just have never been to a show so I'm looking for tips. thinks guys. I planing on hitting blade show west for sure this year, whether or not i have a table.

For starters Blade West isn't going to happen this year. Guess another event came up so I here BW was canceled for this year. I should have news in a day or two if it will be back next year as I hope it does. As for number of knives I usually been quite a few others just a few. It all depends on who stops by the table. Bring what you have. I've always felt more is better if they are different. The economy has really affected the shows. Consider making expenses at the show a good show.

that sucks about blade west. any other shows down that way. Ya i was not planning on coming home with a picket full of cash. really just wanted to go and have fun and maybe sell some knives. I am working on a batch of 8 right now that will have different handle materials. I am also working on some forged knives and have a few of my second amendment knives in the works. really i just want to have fun this year :D

JT, You might check in with the OKCA show coming up the middle of April. It is a relatively inexpensive show to do. Table and dues for the show are only like 125.00 and hotels run about 75.00 per night.

That looks like fun, will have to check that out

I was wondering why I couldn't find any dates about BW this year... I went to the OKCA mini show last year and enjoyed myself but it was definitely "mini." Planning on going to the show in April but as a spectator/customer only! Sometimes I wonder if I should even let my wife see my attempts at making knives... ;)

I think your wife would rather see something green in your hand. Show her your knives and tell her there as good as money. :D

The new owner is blaming exhibitors for non support of BW, but my experience last year was non support by show management...Missy being the exception!!

Now, Steve Shakleford (sp?) said on blade forum couple days ago they do not have show staff to produce two knife shows a year..sad stuff.
