Getting rid of dents?

I've got a BM707 and i notice that it has a dent or two on the edge. I ordered a sharpmaker, but is it possible to get rid of dents?

Yes, but it will take awhile. You can save yourself a lot of time by using a much more coarse abrasive, either a benchstone or sandpaper to get the edge to the right shape and then sharpen on the Sharpmaker.
