Thanks for all the advice.
Here is a before and after pic. Spent about 30 minutes or so total on both sides of the blade with 2000 grit and water. Just to see what would happen Still have some "stains" where the rust spots were, and I may try a polish wheel and some compound on my dremel next. The "finish" now is actually pretty cool with not satin, yet showing the mill lines and becoming more reflective. With the 2000 grit, the stamp is fully intact.
Thanks for the help and advice, I will likely be utilizing one of the compounds suggested as well for peace of mind.
