Getting some flaring dies made

I'm looking for a recommendation for a machine shop (or would happily pay somebody here with a lathe and HT ability) to get some tube flaring dies made to fit my arbor press. I already own a pair of them made by one of the knife supply outfits (also where I got the press), and while they work very well, they're designed to match an 82 degree countersink. This setup works really well for thin-walled tubes but I'm looking at flaring much heavier material (.065" wall thickness) which will split if you try to flare it to such a high degree. I want hardened dies made, again with a 3/8" diameter shank, but designed to match the angle on a tapered reamer, something like this:

If the handle material were reamed 3/16" or so deep, and the tube flared to a low angle like that, there should be about zero chance of splitting, and it would hold just fine.

I have about a dozen machine shops around me, but none of them are capable of heat treating. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Maybe I'm saying something that is obvious, but:
Have them machine the dies in D-2 and HT them yourself.

If my evenheat were currently operating, it'd be the way to go. I suppose I could get them turned and then send to Peter's the next time I get a few blades done.

I'm up in Canada, but I'd offer to do it if you can't find anyone down there who will.
I've made lots of things like that for myself, usually from O1 drill rod.

I wouldn't be asking much beyond shipping and materials if I do it. I enjoy the occasional machining project to keep things fun, and that's the sort of thing I'd make someone for a 6 pack.
It'd be a 5-10 minute project for anyone handy with a lathe

Sending the beer across the border may be the hardest part. :)

I'll see what the exact angle of the reamer is when it arrives and figure the length of die required.

When you figure out the angle, feel free to send me a PM
I was wanting to make myself a set of these anyways, and making two sets is no more time and effort than making one. The setup is most of the work.

Sounds good that you found someone to help. It is best if the rest of this discussion takes place by PM or email.
