Getting tools for my first pocket sheath, updated with pics of progress.

Well done. Very servicable. If you plan to continue working with just chrome tan (soft ) leathers like pictured, I wouldn't worry about the edger. Chrome tan won't edge worth a darn anyway. If you start working with veggie tan than yep ya'll want that edger.

Or small leather things, here is a mini baseball glove I made for a ring display.

Very nice! This is what I want to learn to do next. To form the leather around the Sak and flashlight instead of just a slip pocket. I have a Pioneer X and a Cr123 flashlight I want to form a pocket sheath around.

At this point I think what's holding you back is the leather you're using. I'd pick up a piece of nice veg tan somewhere in the 4-6oz range and some modeling tools, then you can wet form around whatever knives and tools you've got.

I will make a trip to Tandy again and pick up some veg tan. Wet forming looks great and will be nice on my bigger items. Thanks for the tips!

Updated original post with more pics of a few more I made. Thanks everyone for the advise, tips and support!!!

Enjoy seeing posts of your projects. I'm a beginner myself. Here's a pic of my first sheath, also using scrap out from hobby lobby.
