Gflex

I work in a cold and humid cellar, had issues with casting resins curing long or specialized resins curing brittle. No problems with g flex.

Also, as above, there is a reason why there is different epoxy products for different purposes. Casting resin (with thickeners if necessary) will work better for filling large voids.

Finally, not really relevant for the epoxy debate, but antler pith can aslo be stabilized with CA glue and this is commonly done.

Actually if you are going that route, use super glue and baking powder. Sets up like a rock. I even patched the plastic gas tank on my pressure washer with this combo. 3 years and holding.

Yes same properties, they actually used deer antler as a leavening agent before baking powder came around. I think it was call hartshorn in Europe.

Take your old portaband blades and break en into 3 to 4 inch pieces. Round the corners on one end and ben the other end up a little. Throw em in a dixie cup and keep em next to your glue. Great glue mixing sticks and spatulas.

Great idea, I am always looking at my old bandsaw blades and wishing there was something I could use them for instead of tossing them in the recycle.

Its so cool I wish I could claim the idea it but I can’t. Jim was kinda helping out in the shop for a few months in exchange for learning how to build a knife. He came up with the idea. Kinda a funny deal and sad at the same time. My mom was living with us then and had dementia pretty bad. She could carry on a long lively conversation with Jim and remember his name. Me I was Mister! Couldn’t remember my name.
