Is this a common fastener or a exclusive type deal?I was real proud of myself for grinding out a decent blade for my 530.I was fitting the thing before ht and the female side of the pivot popped out and went right in the sink and down the disposal side of the drain.I felt it up pretty good and no luck. This is the reason i stick with traditionals! Can someone tell me the size of the Benchmade blade pivot on a 530.

Go down to the Auto Parts Store (NAPA, etc.) and buy a magnetic pick-up. It is a magnet on a long spring-like, flexible, shaft about two feet long. Cost is minimal. Fish your pivot from the garbage disposal.

Oh, and don't take yer knives apart anymore.:)

Good thinking Ed,I believe i have one on a telescoping handle.Im pretty sure it gone tho.I cant stop taking knives apart, but i may lay off the tactical stuff for a while.( :

I know you can't stop taking knives apart. However, the pivot may not be gone. Sometimes, something small like that stays in the cup the cutting blades are in forever. Look at the bottom of the disposal and see if there isn't a plug in the bottom that allows stuff like that to be removed from the disposal. The whole bottom of the disposal may screw off -- worth a look.

Yeah, if it went down the disposal side, then you're still good. Should be able to find it in there.

You guys were right! I turned the disposal on and it stuck right away.I had the tool to unstick it and got it freed up,stuck my hand down there, and lo and behold, there was my part.I was able to snake it out.It was crammed full of crud.I guess forced inside the threads when i jammed it up.But i got it all cleaned out, finished fitting up the blade, and she's ready for h.t. and etching.( : Im gonna have the sweetest 530 on the block!

That's one nice looking blade. It really sets the knife off.
