I received my GH Afghan last friday from my friend Mauro Machado (GH dealer in Brazil), as well as a GH Mini Jungle from a fellow forumite. Here are emy impression about both:
the mini-jungle is a rugged, well built little khuk, it is very well balanced and light and a pleasure to handle. A quick little khuk just as I like them to be (but do I dislike any khuk?). regarding finish, though, it is a bit inferior to my other GH pieces, and the karda and chakmak are very por. the leather in the sheath also seem of a lower quality? Stll, nothing to discard the knife itself as a functional tool.
The Afghan, though, is a real showpiece -Just as stunning as it looks in the site. Knife, sheath, accessories, everything shines. One surprise, though, was about its balance. As I aways though it was similar to the Cheetlang and got the Cheetlang before it, it was a real surprise to see how different they were. The Afghan is much heavier and has its weight concentrated closer to the tip, thus behaving in a completelly different manner, not so quick but able to deliver amazing blows.
To sum up, both are good knives and I can't wait for the next to come (it should already be here but the mail is disapointing me this time).
