This is one I forged "inlay"
Carbon and nickle to bring out the contrast.

...that just popped out of the CNC machine. What's the biggie??!! :rolleyes: :eek: :p

I love this new style. Those scallops are SEXAYYY! Damascus: That's also an inset? Nice deception and one that would have me looking VERY closely.

Coop

Coop,
It is interframed in into the handle;
Then hand rounded fit and finished.
NAH!!! I just scanned it in and it popped out the the side complete.

Darrel - very nice....very very nice. Sorry you weren't at Cambridge, I was able to make it at the last minute. Got a couple of very nice big Fred Rowe Damascus Knives with scrimshawed grizzlies by Diane. End to end almost 3 feet of knife!!!

Thanks to all for the good words.
Don I think you are right. I have thinking about the inlays for a while.
I like making damascus inlays but the patterns were too fine. They didnt add much contrast and wow factor after fluting.
Then I rememberd what Hugh Bartrug told me.
If you cant see it from the other side of the room its no good.
I went to my old billet pile and found a coarse stacked nickle and 02 bilet. It seemed to work pretty well!

Tim, I am sorry I missed you. You can always drive a bit more and come to the shop!
Those knives sound really awesome.
