Don, you wanna collaberate on a book? Email me and let's talk about it if you are interested.
Yeah, you might be able to entice me to do that.
Interesting project. You could gather information, permissions to publish from the people who submitted their shops and the forum higherups, and I could organize it and compose and publish a really good book about knifemaker's shops.
I might even clean my shop up and put it into the book. I can take photos.
I'll bet we could add several dozen more knifemakers. We'll organize chapters by knifemaker, and add some of his work as examples.
That'll put the knife publications to shame.
Seriously, I subscribed to Knives Illustrated for about 15 years, just to read Bud Lang's articles. When he left the magazine, I did too. Even though he called a milling machine an end mill, he did a good job.
Now you're about to get an old man all worked up over something new.
I served in the US Army with a guy from Brooklyn, one from the Bronx, and one from where the people read the Wallstreet Journal, wherever that is in NYC. Queens??
If we do this, I hope you're a better businessman than I am.
The more i think about this, the more I'm thinking about it. You better hire a lawyer and copyright the idea fast!!!!
