Ghost Chili

Hey mate. I was up there a week ago. Stayed a night at the Crowne Plaza at Pelican Waters. REALLY good restaurant there. I believe you're a bit out of town now? I'd love to swing by some time and check out a proper collection of Busse knives.

Chris.

Just sent you a PM

I love this stuff:

depending on how much you like heat, 1 teaspoon to 2 tablespoons of it to the jar of alfredo sauce will light up a pot of tortellini. (i call it my angry white sauce at that point) SWMBO has told me i'm not allowed to use 2 tablespoons of it in a dish any more...
It's also really good mixed into a meatloaf.

Back in my college days I tried to eat a Ghost chilli. Didn't end well and Beer is not a good way to put the fire out. :p

Mrs Renfros makes a good Ghost Pepper salsa as well. Hot but yummy....I typically find "hot" salsas to be too sweet. Not this one! Makes my head sweat...that's how I know it's working. :)

I love the ghost chili. I ate one straight and it was by far the hottest my tongue had ever been. it's nuts. but I absolutely love to cook with them. my chili is amazing with them in there. don't go over board like with regular peppers though. 1 is more than enough.

they did just come out with a hybrid that is hotter though

Ghost Chili is much more hot then Chocolate Habanero.
if anyone want to get the hottest pepper in the world, i found a good place:
here - Ghost Chili
with this link you can - eat, grow, or whatever you want - the Ghost Chili

Try adding a ghost chilli to a good bottle of anejo Tequilla, it gives it a great flavor and well itll be a damn hot shot. Ive been doing this awhile and anyone who loves hot food raves over it. Dirt simple!

I grew them last year. They are super hot and have a very fruity flavor, much like a habanero on steroids. A great all around pepper when used sparingly. The real risk is when preparing them, accidentally touching your eyes with fingers that have handled the peppers.

Awesome pics. I'm with David Brown as my tongue is not built for hot things. If I tried that, I'd feel like judge #3 in the chili joke :D

Are they hotter than a habanero?

Oh yeah. There's a restaurant near me that hosts something called Hell Night, where they have a special Ghost Chili dish you need to sign a waiver before you can eat.

I got maybe half of it down before I wilted from the pain. Hot stuff.

Beer :D

Twisted Pine Brewing - Ghost Face Killah served in Belzebuth glass from France.

GFK is brewed with 6 zany peppers. Anaheim, Fresno, Jalapeno, Serrano, Habanero and Bhut Jolokia – Otherwise known as the Ghost Pepper.

I picked the Belzebuth glass because of their logo, they went good together :p

I can eat a habanero pepper plain. Just bit it off the stem and chew it up. It makes me sweat.

I am no longer willing to eat really hot peppers as much any more.

I have eaten peppers hotter than the Habanero raw as well.

Once, while on my honeymoon, I ate some novelty hot sauce. One of the worst mistakes ever! It melted the skin off my whole mouth.

My tongue and whole mouth peeled the next day. Big clumps of skin falling out!

I could feel my heartbeat in my teeth!

I am not a chili head, but a friend at work is.

Habeneros are hot stuff, Bhut Jalokia are even warmer and Trinidad Scorpions go even further.

One day at work some of the chili heads got to playing around with peppers eating jalapenos and habeneros and then they tried eating a Habenero and then chase it by gobbling down a tootsie roll, one of the biggewr ones 5/8's of an inch thick and a couple inches long,

Warning this could give you a new experience, it must activate most taste buds, But the guy I watched trying this broke a serious sweat, his lip turned a color close to purple and then after talking ro him a few days later at break he said his pop still didn't taste quite right to him.

BUT if you want a new chili experience just eat a samll habenero and gobble down a tootsie roll. then wgo know what will happen. But You Have Been Warned.

What does it taste like? Is it drinkable, or more of a novelty?

Chris.

It's drinkable, but at the same time it's a novelty. It's really spicy and bland. They want you to taste the peppers, not the beer. Ha :p

I was already drunk when I popped it, but I sipped it. It was too hot and exotic to drink fast/normal.

I'm a beer connoisseur.
