Sandhurst is Fort William
The Sun UK ^ | 9 January 2006 | DUNCAN LARCOMBE

PRINCE William will have an amazing array of security at Sandhurst — including crack Gurkha soldiers AND royal protection officers.
They are part of a £2million ring of steel thrown around the future heir as he arrived yesterday to join brother Harry for training at the military academy.
Top brass ordered the unprecedented security alert after The Sun told how a reporter was able to wander unchecked on to the base with a fake bomb.
Security alert ... our expose
They are determined to ensure the Berkshire centre is secure as it makes history by simultaneously hosting the second and third in line to the throne.
Many of the special measures introduced following a report into The Sun’s June article remain top secret.
But we can reveal TWO teams of Gurkhas will be on a 24-hour alert to guard William, 23, and 21-year-old Harry, who is entering his third term.
Their duties will include guarding the end of each corridor where the princes will sleep.
An extra unit of MoD police has also been drafted in to guard entrances and patrol the perimeter with dogs. Extra fences have been erected.

Staff have been told to watch for strangers and personnel warned that “heads will roll” if serious lapses occur.

In the army now ... Wills
And for the first time in its history, the base will host two teams of royal protection officers. A senior Sandhurst source told The Sun: “Last summer’s intruder incident was a major embarrassment for the MoD.
“Any security lapse while William and Harry are training will not be accepted. Extra money has been made available to step up security and — as of yesterday — Sandhurst is one of the Army’s most secure bases.”
William looked nervous yesterday as he arrived to begin his 44-week officer training course, accompanied by dad Charles.
He was greeted by Sandhurst Commandant Major General Andrew Ritchie before emerging later to wave his dad goodbye with the words: “Bye Pa.”
William had earlier said farewell to girlfriend Kate Middleton, whom he is banned from seeing for five weeks — missing her 24th birthday today.
They parted after a champagne bash in London’s Mayfair, where he spoke of “my adorable Kate”.

Cool. Heads will roll...:D
