One question: one link ( maybe this one ) talked of a British Gorkha being from Sikkim - does this mean that family relationships supercede imaginary boundaries? Or is it a case of something else you know/ don't know of?

I'm not sure, Rusty, but I think if you speak Nepali, act Nepali, the British really don't care where you might come from. And, it is easy to get a Nepali citizenship if you read, write, speak, act Nepali.
