Giant mouse GM 5

That's fascinating. Is this documented somewhere?

My personal take is that Viper/Tecnocut is a bit junky. I handled some in pre-GM days and was unimpressed. Funny how the exact same chintzy action is now deemed "unique" and becomes sought after, once the price goes from $140 to $350 and the tagline goes from "Made in Italy" to "Danish Design, American Ingenuity". Still trying to figure out what part of GM has anything to do with America besides the marketing and investment.

I also happen to know that GM isn't abiding by its "limited edition" numbers. Once the editions are sold out, overruns continue to be sold under the table.

These are pretty big claims for not having even handled a GM knife, or substantiating any of your assertions.

You're welcome to your opinion, of course. You just haven't given anyone else a single reason to find yours persuasive.

What on earth are you talking about? I've owned a GM1 and handled many others.

Sorry then, your earlier comment about handling pre-GM Viper's implied that that was the limit of your experience.

That being cleared up, your earlier comments still lack any substantiation and seem pretty contrived.

You seem to believe I've made multiple "big claims", which is certainly a way to cast a shadow over my opinions without adding anything of value. Meanwhile I only offered my opinions, and only one thing I said could be deemed a "claim" which is that they're selling their overruns. Unless you're going to explicitly accuse me of being deceitful in that claim, I'd ask you to kindly do what we all do here, which is to assume good faith — and to politely allow the people who've observed my 16 years of judicious contribution to this forum judge for themselves.

My post above detailed a range of experiences with different GM and Viper knives. I’d say it adds something “of value.” Especially in that it actually references specific knives, and experiences with them, that sort of thing.

Anyways, yeah. You’re accusing GM of sellling more knives than their publicized number of limited runs surreptitiously. That’s a significant claim, charging them with duplicity. You’ve asserted it without any substantiation, and I’m just saying that if you’re going to make that kind of accusation against a company, maybe you should offer something other than brief, bare assertion.

Casting my opinions as "claims" adds nothing of value.

I heard it from the lips of Jim Wirth, as he sold an overrun from a cardboard box.
