Up for grabs is a limited edition GMP-3. Asking $ SOLD This knife has never been carried or used other than to check out the centering & flipping action. After some repeated flipping the knife was stored as part of my Pirate Edition collection. Much to my surprise when I took out the knife to show a friend I saw that the dark stonewashed finish on the bronze handle scales had discolored where my fingers had made contact with the scales as seen in these photos:
After reaching out to Giant Mouse I learned that this was not uncommon due to the nature of the factory finish, and that if I wanted to restore the original appearance I could gently polish off the remaining dark finish, and then safely add a black/brown patina using a product called Midas Patina Solution.
I did polish off as much of the original factory applied finish without disassembling the knife as shown in these photos:
After much deliberation I decided to leave the knife as is and price it accordingly. I'll leave it up to a new owner to decide if they want to complete the project per the suggestions made by Giant Mouse or to allow the bronze scales to naturally patina.
