Hello

Not sure if this is the correct spot for such a question - apologies if not.

I have some Gibeon meteorite that I'd like a custom maker to incorporate into a slipjoint build and am curious if anyone knows how to properly treat it - proper stabilization and etching procedures. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Renaud Aubry of Artisan Coutelier offers meteorite scales on some of his knives (I know on the navette model for sure) so he probably could help you out. He makes traditional French slip joints. Good luck in your search!

David, Randy at HHH knives has also used it in damascus, he would probably have some good info.

I know maker Lynn Rhea has made/forged a damascus knife with some of the very same material. There was an article in Blade magazine January 2015. Pretty sure he can be reached thru this forum. He frequents the custom knife threads.

Thanks for the suggestions and contacts - I should say, for clarification, that I'd be asking for the meteorite to be used as the shield (not looking for it to be used as part of the blade). Thanks again for the help! 👍
