anyone use ,used or any info-

they can save me a few big pennies over what i have now-but are they any good?

I have been with Gieco since 92 and so far so good :) Prices are reasonable and service has always been top notch for me. Even put in a claim once on a break in and rates didn't jump and the process went smooth and quick. Of course as with all things "your mileage may vary" :)

I used Gieco for 11 years, then switched to AIG - much better prices, excellent service and without the crappy attitude.

Hit a deer in 2001, then spun around and hit a guardrail. Geico Adjuster said it was "collision" because of the guardrail. There was blood, fir and guts all over the front of my car. I even had a Sheriff's Deputy riding with me at the time.

Because of "collision" for hitting the guardrail and not "comprehensive" for hitting a deer, I had to pay my deductible and my rates went up. Police investigated, no ticket was issued. Didn't write it down but told us both the cause was striking a deer at 45 MPH.

Deputy friend of mine hooked me up with a lawyer, and we threatened them. Their response was go ahead - it'll cost you a lot more than it'll cost us...

Insured by AAA for almost 50 years. Never had a problem. My wife rear ended a lady who slammed on her brakes instead of hitting a dog. $8500 in damage to both cars. AAA tacked on a surcharge of $64 (about 1%) a year for 2 years. Big deal.:)

Statefarm - I've had no accidents for decades, then 2 years ago I rear-ended 3 cars! Not as bad as it sounds - they were at a stop and I basically nudged one into another.

But each had about $1,500 in damage and Statefarm had to deal with 3 claims (I laid low).

I never heard a word from Statefarm (I thought they were going to cancel me). My premium didn't go up a penny.

I personally would never go with Geico because of their blatant insensitivity toward Cavemen.

Statefarm is the best choice.

Nationwide, and Allstate are the worst. :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

I use USAA (United Services Automobile Association – for military officers and families). I got hit by a guy who had Allstate. Dealing with them was a joke. They did everything they could to make me believe the accident was my fault, or if not, that I couldn't prove it. The police officer's report didn't seem to be good enough for them. What got things turned around was when I told them I was going to file with "my" insurance company (USAA) and let the insurance companies fight it out. I told them my company was happy to do that because Allstate would end up paying a lot more for the accident. Things got better then.

The Allstate claims adjuster asked me if there were any witnesses. I told him, "Yes, my son-in-law in the seat next to me." He told me by law that he couldn't be a witness to the accident. I told him I didn't need him to be a witness to the accident, I just needed him to be a witness to the fact that the his client (the guy who hit me) admitted to us it was entirely his fault and that his insurance company would take care of it. The adjuster folded.

I have erie, but last year b4 renewing, I checked with geico and they could not beat the price that I have been paying so I'm still with erie for about 17 years now.

We switched our car and home owners insurance to Erie last year after being with AllState for 34 years. Better prices and service is great. Here is a link to insurance ratings.

Don't know how many folks know GEICO's history or that the acronym stands for Govt. Employees Insurance COrporation. Used to be the preferred provider for Military and Fed. Employees...
