Question Gift a Membership

I clicked Gift Membership on his (TheZenful1) profile page and paid for a one year Gold via Paypal and received my Paypal receipt.
Does he need to do anything (ugrade usergroup) like we had to on the old software or will it just turn Gold automatically when the system recognizes it?

You may have renewed your own - I checked TheZenful1's status, and it shows no purchases; but yours shows a purchase in Aug 2018, with an expiration in 2020 (instead of 2019)
 
What's the transaction ID on your payment? What's the date / time when you did it?
