I received a surprise package in the mail today from forum member glennbad. When I opened it, I found this inside. This knife is a reworked Camillus TL-29, what I always called an electricians knife. He had cleaned it up, reground the screwdriver blade into a sheepsfoot, and rehandled it in jigged amber stag. Glenn made the bolsters himself, he has really got a knack for this sort of thing! All I can say, is thank you, it will be a treasured companion.

That is waaaaaay cool! He ought to buy up all the old TL-29s he can and start a little business!

What a transformation here! I can't imagine my Dads old Craftsman TL-29 with the plastic covers ever looking like that! What a gift!

Sorry TL-29 Lovers ...but this is certainly a case of taking am Ugly Duckling and turning it into a Swan...............

VERY nice
both the gesture and the knife itself

while i would be the last person in the world to disparage the utility of a tl-29, i would have to agree with Boggs,
ugly duckling to a swan indeed!

Very cool!

That is a very beautiful knife - nice work glennbad!

best

That is sure a lovely gift. You are lucky. I would have wanted to keep the screwdriver (because it is handy to have).

I sure like the blade he ground out of it though!

Glennbad does good work, indeed.

Congratulations on the fine knife, JK, and-- good on ye, glennbad.

(JK, your typewriter's a little dusty, but makes a fine backdrop all the same.)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I can think of nobody more deserving than John. He's always making knives for everyone else, I figured why not make something for him.

Enjoy!

Beautiful knife, Glenn.

An excellent gift.

Wow...Glenbad is getting pretty darned good! and Congrats to you John, you are indeed a lucky guy!
What a cool mix, Camillus blades-which just have to be right up there with any quality, and Amber Bone scales!!...excellent thinking.
