Gift Ideas for 20's-30's Active Gals??

Wow! "The gals" are doing that these days!?!? Next thing you know those ladies are going to be going to school and getting jobs!

Dude. If these women are active outdoors people, I will wager that some "feminine", pink knife is going to be downright offensive to them.

Get them the same knife you would use.

Seriously! Some of the responses here are really stone age.

I don't know about a pink knife being offensive. It is probably very subjective. I mean, I'm a dude and am not offended by my Pink Native. Quite like it actually. It will be my daughters some day but for now I EDC it every once in a while. It would make a good choice here but is over budget.

I think it was a joke but the fact that they're active outdoorswomen did throw me for a loop too but in a different way. If they've been doing this the whole time without a knife, I doubt they're just going to start carrying one all of a sudden because someone told them they should. You do something like hiking and the like long enough then you know what does and doesn't work for you. If what works for them is going knifeless then it's going to be hard to convince them otherwise. If you don't believe me just go onto the site backpacking light and try and make your case for needing a knife. It's right up there with batoning on this site.:D I personally see these gifts as a waste of money for a single blade knife simply because they'll probably never really use it. Something like a sak with scissors, tweezers, etc will be used. That's just my opinion though.

I wouldn't.
The backpack snobs would ridicule me for getting mine at Costco!
Not to mention they'd all point and laugh at how heavy it is all the time...

I have given several pink Leeks as gifts to women, and every one of them likes and uses the knife. I did show all of them about the assisted opening when I gifted them, but they actually enjoyed them and all of them have commented on them as time has gone by. One even asked me where to get another, as she had to sacrifice hers to the TSA when traveling and she forgot she had it in her purse. In my case Pink worked, WELL.

There's crazies in both camps.

Very true.
I might lurk on one of those sites next time I need to buy the gear they're so passionate about, though.
They will have compiled a wealth of data on such things which would be silly to ignore. :)

Maybe a Spyderco Dragonfly Salt if the plan of the OP is still a go.
It's small and light.
And being rust-proof would be a great benefit for something which can be carried and largely ignored maintenance-wise.

That is an excellent point.

Is this a joke? I hope so.

Uhm, Yes, it is meant in humor.
As far as pink goes, I was offered a beautiful custom grip .38 Smith and Wesson snubnose 'Chief' revolver for $299. It has Lady Smith inscribed on the side and a lot of the local gun enthusiasts won't buy it because of that. Mine now and I must admit when I carry it I do feel pretty.

My girls like Spyderco Q and Delicas. For pink knives they like the BladeTech mouse, plus another small BladeTech folder that is just as small. Both fit easily in a tight pants pocket and a small purse. One even took my Matriarch.
