Just curious, but what knives and to whom are you giving to this Holiday season?

I got a Camillus CUDA EDC for one of my non-knifeperson brothers. Knowing him as a techy/gagdet guy, he'll like the frame lock and the "ATS-34 steel" thing.

For a stocking stuffers, I got my wife, mom, mom-in-law, and sister-in-law inexpensive, sheeple-friendly pink, Blackie Collins Buddy Systems.

Am giving my step-dad, a real life dot.com super-techy, a MicroTech Mini Socom. I know he'll dig that, and may just turn into a Bladeforumite himself.

And for me (as unfortunately most folks don't think give knives as Xmas gifts)...well...I got myself a Busse Mr. Mojo LE with custom serial #.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Well, I made my GF order me a Camillus EDC with 154cm blade for X-mas so I qualify as the givee.

I purchased an Old Glory Camillus EDC for her father and I know he'll like it since he's a semi-knife person and loves anything with the flag on it and all things made in the USA. Nothing says Brownie Points better than a USA made knife with a flag printed on the handles. :)

My dad is getting a Microtech LCC DA.
Got both of my granddads Buck auto conversions.

-they are really into these automatic knives. Who can blame
them?

Lessee, I'm giving the 3.5" CRKT Gray Ghost to three uncles, a cousin, and a best friend. And another cousin and a friend are getting CRKT Mirages.

I love SMKW. All seven knives ran me around $100, and a large hunk of my shopping was over and done with one phone call.

I've been good so I was baaaad; spent lots of money!

For my fiancee: custom Dozier (kinda gave that to her without really meaning to), 12" HI Sirupati, CS Master Hunter, custom Running Dog Happy Camper.
Plus a bunch of non-knife stuff. I've given her a couple of BM folders already earlier this year.

For myself: Fallkniven S1, CS SRK, 18" HI Gelbu Special, Busse Badger Attack E (order pending), Busse Basic 7, Busse Assualt Shaker and if the deal goes through, a Busse ZT Natural Outlaw. Got the bug for a couple of Blackwoods and a couple of Clark's custom blades but that's enough cuz I might not get married at this rate. Heheh!

Picked up the EdgePro Apex and a Spydie SharpMaker.

I'm looking forward to next year cuz I KNOW I'm gonna be even more good than this year...that way I can be extra baaaad. :)

My youngest boy (age 12) is a budding knife nut. I wanted to get him a few basic knives that he might like AND maybe even get some use out of, for Christmas. Well .... I picked up a Normark fillet knife, a Schrade "Bear Paw" lockback, and a Ka-bar Marine Corps fighting knife (for whittling those stouter marshmallow sticks). ;)

I bought the Ka-bar because I wanted him to have an inexpensive but classic and UNBREAKABLE, big, brawny, military-type knife. I think I read somewhere in these forums recently that these blades may not be nearly as tough as I would have expected. Maybe I should've ordered a Camillus instead. (?) Also bought a "Bear Paw" for my older son. Hope somebody in the family is aware of my knife needs, but as they say, "Wish in one hand .....

Merry Christmas!

This christmas was tough trying to stay within budget for friends and family.

1. For my Son's Karate instructor: Paul Chen's January blade Mag. Folder thru BA
2. For my DEAREST Buddy in the whole world: My Carson #4
3. For my Oldest Son LCC/DA
4. Youngest son BM 735
5. My Daughter an IQuest Homework helper ( she is a tree-hugging SHEEPLE)
6. My Wife: If I even THOUGHT of giving HER a knife, I would be KNUTT-LESS and remain in the Garage. a Diamond (single one) Necklace
7. My Nephews (four) BM 812's
8. My Former street Partner, a Leatherman Wave
9. And for my Family, just MY WORD to keep trying to maintain my climb UPWARDS and to continue just getting back to being "Ira the ASSWHOLE":D :D :D

And to all of you? ME for another year:eek: Merry Christmas

OF YEAH..and to JAXURMAN...An APOLOGY and a promise to work towards PEACE...............Ira;)

I gave a lady friend of mine a Spydie Cricket. She's very thrilled about it and loves the unique look; easy to open and close. It's a hit! And for me, I bought myself a William Henry ICON interframe w/ MOP inlays :)

Meyerco Scamp's for the 6 guys in my monthly men's fellowship/bible study. (I know it's samll & cheap, but you gotta start to introduce sheeple back into the wild slowly at first ;) ).

My wife got me a Marker custom folder! (Thanks Coop!) and a DR CF Apogee!! (Thanks Larry!)
I got Buck 303s for some "entry level" knife friends.
A CS Recon Scout for a friend
A SOG NW Ranger for another friend..
SEVERAL V'nox Secretarys
AND got a Camillus OVB on order for myself too!
A WH s07 to my brother
A MT mini-SOCOM to my dad

Everytime I have given a knife as a gift I have gotten GREAT reaction!!

I decided to be stingy this year.

For my Dad. . .a Leatherman Micra. And for me. . .a Mayo TNT and Carson M4 (large).

My daughter is getting a Kershaw Scallion and my wife was kind of jealous when she saw it, but I had already bought her a small multi-tool, but then......... I just won a Kershaw Blackout on a Knifeforums raffle so she'll be getting it as a belated Christmas present!

Merry Christmas!

Oops, forgot! For me, Tinives Damascus Stars & Stripes! :D

Emerson CQC-7B SFS x 2
Emerson CQC-7B BTS
Emerson Commmander SFS

All of these are going to various good buddies of mine, plus I got me a satin plainedge CQC-7B to add to my personal knife hoard. These guys would probably never buy such fine knives if left to their own devices, but they sure do like to play with mine. So now they'll have their own and mine will get a rest from all the extra fondling and flicking.

The gift I got for my father should yield interesting results. He thinks I'm a total nutcase for spending the money I do on quality knives, can't see why in the world I'd ever need my Buck Strider, SERE2K, why I would pay so much for a large Sebenza, etc. Basically he's a firm believer that any knife that is more exotic or expensive than a Wal-Mart brand is a "Rambo Bambo POS" and "real men make due just fine with Leatherman, Gerbers, etc" My Microtechs, Benchmades,TOPS, etc. are "just for armchair warriors"

Well..this last fall he came home from a hunting trip bitching up a storm about the Old Timer skinning knife he'd used to try to clean a couple of Caribou a couple miles in the woods. Evidently his buddies Gerber Gator showed it up really bad. He was pretty steamed about the Old Timer not working out, and thinking Gerber was pretty hot stuff.

So....I took it upon myself to pick him up a Spyderco Moran, I even hunted down an old one with the leather sheath to avoid any "rambo bambo" images. With the overall short size, lightweight, flat thin blade, and VG-10 Stainless blade it SHOULD work out real well for him.
Hopefully after use he'll be a bit more....enlightened as to my own knife tastes

got my wife a BM Park Avenue- hope she likes it, it's all I could afford, and I had to trade in my BKT Campanion and a Spydie Native to get it. (The only knife she's talked about lately is a $185 purple anodized BM Mini-reflex) Figure is she hates it I can take it back and use it as trade towards the BM or a Protech that she liked alot.

Got my 4yr. old son a Spyderco Ladybug. Tried to find one with a sheepsfoot blade locally, but....didn't succeed. of course I'll "hold it for him" in my safe most of the time and only let him use it under my close supervision, but....it'll be his.

So....a total of three knives for Christmas.

Happy Holidays folks!

I got a Buck Strider (Thanks Scott!)
a cold steel El Hombre (Thanks Steve!)
a cold steel El Lobo (Thanks again Steve!)
and a Spyderco Sharpmaker (thanks BLKW!)

and everything got here before Christmas! All the knives are presents to me from my wife - she just wanted me to get ahold of everything and she gave it all to me. Cain't beat that wit' a bat!

Here's what I made my wife...3.5" ATS-34, ano chassis and clip, stabilised streaky fiddleback blackwood (I think, can't recall...I just know it is rare and I'm not able to get any more)...nice, huh? :)

Spectacular Ferret!

I could have tried to sell my BM Griptilian and BM 720 over the forums but decided to give them to my two favorite uncles instead. We had a big family Christmas party on Sunday and I presented them with the knives. Boy, were they thrilled! Neither has ever had anything better than a Buck 110 and even that I'm not sure about. Merry Christmas All! :)

I'm giving my mom some cheap gardening shear kinda things, with a couple knife blades that fold out... I don expect the thing to last more than a week, come spring, but eh, it's the thought that counts. (ahem, yah, some thought  )

Dad is getting a Jag balisong, since he's recently recovered from a brief bout with arthritis... hopefully some _light_ manipulation and a few minutes of finger-strengthening exercises each day will help him build back up some tendon strength... Hope he don get addicted to manipulating the thing, or he'll give himself carpal tunnel, too...

This don 'zactly count as a _knife_, but my significant other and I are pooling our money to get a matching pair of bracelets... each has 2 rows of inch-long spikes on it! :D Though, I prolly won't get the things until mid-January, then I'll hafta ship one over (which'll take _another_ eternity)... *sigh* long distance relationships _suck_. :(
