Gift knives and their recipients: Let's hear about them

I gave away a bunch of production knives this summer, so not so much for Xmas.

Did give my dad a Marbles Game-Getter Sport 2000. Great knife, I just decided he would probably get more use out of it than I would. He opened it early (didn't see the Xmas note on the outside of the package) and I was very surprised that he said he probably wouldn't use it -- already had a "big Buck knife that he uses for hunting". :-(

Gave everyone Leatherman Micra's. Those seem to have gone over pretty well.

Got my Dad a Leatherman Supertool 200. I got my Father in law a spyderco Sharpmaker 204.

Oh, and I got a Busse Basic 5 and a very big Siegle knife.

I got the grandkids plain edge ladybugs. Pink for her, green for him, and a green one my son. I got a BK&T 7" for the son of a friend, birthday not Christmas. Got my brother-in-law a set of Lansky diamond stones.

He got me an absolutely MINT Gerber Paul knife.

I got my mom a Leatherman Juice S2, the orange one. There's a place in the mall right by the knife store that does laser engraving, so I had them put her name and "Christmas - 2001" on it. It looks really good, since the laser cut through the anodization into the actual metal. So the letters are silver through orange, like the factory lettering. Just hope she likes it, 'cause I sure won't be able to return it. :) Next year is my sis's turn for a knife......not enough money this year. :(

My buying got cut short this year, since we went on strike.
Got my best friend a Becker BK7, and I also gave two Spyderco Sharpmakers (to people I'd already given knives to earlier this year), and ~16 Photon IIs as gifts.
Got a Kershaw Scallion as a gift, and I got myself a BK7+my Axis AFCK and Rinaldi Gambit both arrived in the last few weeks:)

I am fairly new to this knife knut thing,i have always carried an old buck pocket knife my granddad gave me when he taught me how to fish. This year i bought the nephews, and cousins kids buck pocket knives too.The look of joy on their faces when they seen that they did not get a crummy shirt or a game made it worth it.Their parents will just have to get over it :D.BTw i carry something much better than my old buck now too:D

My wife went crazy when she saw a picture of the Spyderco Ocelot prototype. Once it became clear that the production versions were going to be lower-end I decided to go for it. I bought her one of the prototypes (BG-42 and G-10) from BladeArt. This is her first semi-custom and it is definitely the best knife she owns. She went nuts when she opened it! :D

I recieved a Spyderco Military plain edge in ATS-34 (3 screw clip) and also got a B.K & T Combat/Utility. Both are hair popping sharp.

And a "rustic" Solingen mini-Bowie; the scalpels went to some medical brothers I know, the Bowie to my Junior English teacher, who partakes in Civil War reenactments... (DON'T be late with your homework!!)

Anyway, it's been fun making and giving!
:D

We'll see where I'm at, skill-wise, by this time next year...

I gave my ex brother-in-law a SAK. MY girlfriend gave me a Busse Lean Mean Street. I'm so lucky!
