Giraffe Bone handles?

I ordered one of the 532 build outs from Buck's web specials page last night. It says it's handles are "giraffe bone". Is it really giraffe bone or something else that is called that?

It is dyed giraffe bone; however, the blade is not mirrow polished (at least mine is not) as their website states. And the ram handled 112 has brass, rather than nickel silver, bolsters. You would really think that they could get this information correct.

Thanks. The one pictured didn't look polished to me either, but for the price, I don't care. :thumbup:

I know that there have been quite a few wrong descriptions such as the Buffao Horn 500. It was listed as 440C and is actually 425M.

Giraffe bone is one of my favorite handle materials. It is very durable.

I ordered one of the 532 giraffe bone also. The 532 is one of my favorite patterns and then I went back and ordered the 112. I hope they sell out before I order another 532.
