Giraffe bone stabilizing

Does Giraffe bone have to be stabilized,or can it be used in its natural state?

Yes the bone can be used in it's natural state,as long as it has ben cured long enough so it doesn't shrink after ataching it to the knife.I prefer to buy it already stabilized or have it done,as this cuts down the chance of it shrinking.

Terry,I have always bought mine from the guys from Africa at shows and they have it dyed and un-dyed and also stabilized and un-stabilized.
