First of all this was my first time trying color scrimshaw and I think it came out pretty good. Sure takes a bunch more hours than the standard black scrimshaw. Anyway hope you all like it and the knife specs are below.
Knife OAL; 8 inches
Blade; ATS34 Chisel ground and I hand sanded it to 400 g. I did file work on the polished spine and I used some Ferric Chloride to turn the file work dark to try and make a resemblance to the Giraffe markings.:D
Handle; The handle is a BEAUTIFUL piece of fossil Walrus ivory that I scrimshawed the head of a Giraffe looking at you. The guard and pommel are both black extruded acrylic with copper spacers. Both the pommel and guard have been file worked. The pommel has a brass Mosaic pin.
Display; The display is black extruded acrylic with the socket end of a fossil Walrus tusk that I scrimshawed a Giraffe looking up at the knife.
Knife sheath; The sheath was built by my friend Ken Warick.Thanks again Ken. It has a inlaid piece of fossil Walrus ivory with a standing Giraffe that I scrimshawed.

That is as nice a piece of scrim as I ever saw. The knife is nice but the scrimshaw elevates it to art. It is very hard to make a giraffe face look that real. Excellent work!
The scrimshaw alone is worth the price.:thumbup:

Thanks for the very nice comment and its sure nice to see someone really appreciate scrimshaw. Takes many many hours and a lot of patience. Thanks again.
