Girlfriend wants an axis lock, can afford a rolling lock

Actually, problem solved...when she finds out you can get the mini griptilian in green or purple, all bets are off. She'll almost definitely want a bright green mini grip in 440c.

Thanks guys.
That would be a totally excellent choice.:).

My girlfriend has been playing with my Cabela's minigrip for awhile now and she desperately wants an axis lock based knife. If she saves up for a couple of months, she can afford the normal axis lock, however, she could afford an Ambush right now.
Should we go with the rolling lock now or wait? How is everyone's experiences with the rolling lock? I tried to search for it, but the there's a 404 everytime I do.

I did not read ANY replies. All I can say after being married for ~30 yrs is, let her get what she wants! Nothing more or less will satisfy her. Wait if you have to, but get nothing her heart isn't set on.

It's just that simple. If you don't believe me, talk her into getting something else and see what happens. LOL

I had an ambush roll lock fail on me and cut me...BM was kind enough to replace it...with a different model per my request (now thats customer service...) I do trust BM- but I do NOT trust the roll lock...

Actually, I offered mine one of my small Sebenzas. She wouldnt take it because it cost too much. The most expensive knife she has carried is my 440C Mini Grip.

The mini Griptillians in green and purple are discontinued, but I don't think it should be hard to find them.

Hey, I'm the "girlfriend" who loves a good knife and a good drift every once in a while, heck, everyday.

Yeah, so I just purchased my first axis lock knife, the Benchmade 557 Mini-Griptilian Tanto in the dark green, or "OD Green". I just can't wait till it comes in. I really like the axis lock over the assited opening knifes, due to the fact that the axis lock looks less mean when you open it and there's no chance of it popping open in your pocket.

My boyfriend, Artfully Martial, is rekindling the "knife lover" with in me...I use to love knifes when I was young. I would take my brother's knifes and would cut up whatever I could find with them, most often paper and soda boxes.

As for cars, I've been around them all of my life and there is nothing like a good long drift or racing down the road with the wind blowing through your hair...man.

As for outdoing my boyfriend, I don't think I could ever out do my boyfriend in the knife department, I'm just too frugal...

What an unexpected surprise. Knifes.

Well, you're about on par with the top of my new knives, the D2 cabelas...or maybe the buck 560C...the switchback would definitely kick me out. I know, I'm supposed to be asleep, but I'm so blasted sick.

I was going to suggest giving her your Mini Grip and using that excuse to buy a Ritter Grip (gotta love S30V), but it would seem that the situation has resolved itself.

Lizzard_Breath_K2 Welcome to Blade Forums.

Interesting user name, any back story?

Big welcome Lizzie B :)

Anyhow,good luck and have fun.

Actually, yes there is a story to my user name. My name is Elizabeth, and people call me Lizzy sometimes. Well, to make a long story short, my boyfriend in seventh grade thought it would be funny to call me Lizzard Breath, so that name kinda stuck. The K2 part is for my ever so awsome rollerblades. Oh, one more thing, I love Lizzards, the little creatures fascinate me and are just sooo cute, plus they gross other girls out (I like to go against the norm) So there you have it, the saga of my User Name.

Welcome to BladeForums!
...Mind if I just call ya "Liz"?.:D.

Lizard, eh? This is strange as I recently aquired a mall friend by the same name and handle. Don't know about the last name, though. Do you perhaps sell lotion in the Capitola Mall?
I'm kinda hoping you don't...

I had a savanah monitor for a while, mean ass lizard. I have heard of them being quite tame, but mine would attack anything that entered it's cage. Anyhow, welcome to the forums Liz.

Also, and I believe this is stated on the web site, the yellow can wear off, as it's actually the black knife painted. Then she'll have a "new" black mini-ritter!! The gift that keeps on giving ; )
The yellow-handled Mini-RSK Mk1 is yellow Valox PBX, not painted.
