I will throw a guess, you heated it too much, either that or spilled the bleach
+1 on over heated, blasted it with heat gun on high until it darkened and shined up then went over it with a sanding, wire or polishing wheel.

I was using the last peice of Tan kydex (looks like I will be able to get more) I had & my son accidentally left in in the cooker too long, when I discovered it, I decided to go ahead & make the sheath, & see what happens.
It was still tan on one side.
When buffing the edges I had an idea to buff the high spots & make it look like distressed leather.
I think it looks really cool & I am keeping the mistake sheath for my brown handled S5.
