I haven't done one of these in a while..but I recently hit 1,000 posts, so thought it was time.
Also I won the urban challenge by default...and thought I would give back a little.
The Rules
1. Post a pic of a Try Stick you made with a Becker. Post a pic of the Becker with aforementioned try stick. Guys, this doesn't have to be perfect, an attempt will do. The point is to try a new skill.
2. Must have at least 30 posts on the forum.
3. One entry a day per person, but it must be a new stick for each post.

That's it.
I will randomly choose a winner on the next new moon.
The Prize:
A brand new BK11 shipped to your door. Because it's my favorite.

What is a try stick? I've never heard of one.
Here is a pic some of you might find interesting.

Thank you for the generous giveaway NikkiR!
I got a BK11 for Christmas, so I'm not going to enter. I need to make a try stick sometime though. That seems like a great way of developing outdoor knife skills.

Thanks for the pic, B&B.

Edit: Would it be okay if I made it with a piece of pine board? Don't have a better stick to make one with now.

Not an entry.

Congrats on 1k posts and thanks for the giveaway.

+1, Great thinking on the usage of the gaw for pushing people to learn a skill set that they often want to, but don't generally feel they can't make/find the time.

Good luck to the entrants, now to start my try stick.

Beckers only or will you allow whittling blades too?

I'm going to say Beckers only on this one. I will even post up one that I make too...it will probably be terrible.

Gonna take a walk around the lake and find some sticks tonight. Think I got some boards to carve on too. Will be back tomorrow to show off my first attempt at a TRY stick. Unique GAW Nikki and Thanks for the generosity .

Alright back with my not very thought out attempt at this. Haven't got a chance to look for some sticks yet. Making one of these without using a softer more carvable wood is hard. Could be used to pick up objects but would probably be best as a bank stick to hold up a fishing pole. Will try to find some nice sticks to carve on before this ends.

I'm in now, thanks for the GAW!

Here's my Try Stick. Not very good but I don't guess it's bad for a first try. My BK9 and dad's BK24 did the job.

I think i may do this. really, i am just curious how my BK16 will perform at this task. thanks for the motivation and the great giveaway.

i will update this post with my entry.

thanks again.

I'm stuck in the hospital out of town right now. Hopefully when I go home for a few days I will give it a try.

Is this giveaway still going? I think I will give it my best shot tomorrow, but idk if I want to try to use my wifes bk10 or my bk24... with the help of the 9 of course...
