I recently hit 1000 posts, and I knew I wanted to do a giveaway. I want to thank you all for the wealth of knowledge and entertainment on this site. Without the great members, this site would not be anything. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all members, from all subforums, whether you like me, don't know me, or hate me.
Every single day, I am amazed at the generosity of this place. There are always many giveaways going on, but I'd like to do this one a little different. With the 4th of July coming up, I want to do a giveaway just for veterans/active military, police, firefighters, or EMTs.
All you have to do to enter is post the branch or service of the person who will get the knife. If it's you, then that's it. But if you are a member posting on behalf of someone else, I'd like you to take it one step farther and just say thanks to them in your entry post! It would be extra awesome if you could post a picture of them while they were in service[emoji106] Any service member is eligible, they don't have to be BF users!
Obviously, I'll be using the honor system, so please, please, PLEASE don't lie. Men and women die every day to protect this country, and I would love to honor them even in this small way.

The Prize:

(Not my pic, I'll upload one of the actual knife asap)

Ill be giving away a Cold Steel SRK in AUS8 steel made in Japan. It has been used by me for less than two hours, so it's in great condition. These are indestructable, no frills knives. They have been proven in combat, survival and any other bad situation. This knife is awesome, I mean if you haven't held one, you've missed out. But, it needs to be USED and if I can give back to someone who has sacrificed so much for everyone, I'm happy to do so.

I will let this stay open until next Friday (july 8th) or so, then I'll do a random drawing for the winner. Finally, thank you to all those who have given their life and service to protect and support the greatest country on the face of the planet. Thank you a million times over!!!![emoji106]

That is very kind of you.

I don't have any Cold Steel knives. Would love to try one but it should go to someone that is the service now.

I was with the US Army Corp of Engineers, June 1976-June 2002. Started out as a combat engineer (12 Bravo) and ended up retiring as medic in the National Guard. Still in a engineer unit!

26 years in the military...wish they had the Internet sooner. Just want to say very kind of you! I don't need anymore knives but wanted to say thank you for your offer...maybe some younger kid that just joined the service will get a crack at it!

I had an SRK in Afghanistan in 2011/2012 and handed it off to a fellow soldier on my way out. Would love to have another. Especially a Japanese made one. 12 years in the service. USAF and Army. I'm in. Thanks for the opportunity.

US Navy 2001-2005.

Not in, but thanks for your generosity and to all of our service members.

I once gifted that same exact knife to a friend who was heading to Afghanistan with the Army. It served him very well. He even used it to clean a deer once after he was home.

Currently active duty Army. I've always wondered how this knife would perform for me in the field. I'm in and thank you!

I'll throw my hat in on behalf of my wife. She's a sergeant with the 785th Combat Stress Control at Ft. Snelling serving as a behavioral health specialist, and most recently "promoted" to handle personnel adminstration as well. I always try to make sure she has a proper knife with her, or readily available if she can't have it on her at all times. As an SRK owner myself, I'm sure she'd love one.

This is very cool.
What an awesome and generous gesture.
Adam - Send me a private message and let me know who wins. I'll throw in a care package from Cold Steel HQ too

I'm in. Thanks for the thought and support!

Thank you all for your service to our Country!
God Bless you.
My dad was 101st Airborne and me..never military but a former LEO.
Nothing on our end needed just the many thanks to our heros every day in operations.
Let me see what I can give :)

I qualify, though this absolutely is NOT an entry. Retirement is likely 6 months out for me and there are many folks here who would benefit from your generosity much more than I. That said, I did want to give you a  for a great giveaway as well as say thank you to all of the service members here (active and retired) as well as all of the first responders. Typically these are thankless jobs, but I always greatly appreciate the people who do them and the constant sacrifices they make for the betterment of everyone.

Thank you for the kind giveaway. I am an active duty 19K, stationed at Ft. Carson, CO with the 4th ID. Going to have a lot of field training coming up and a nice fixed blade would see plenty of use from me.
