I just received this Rough Rider in the mail and am very pleased with it other than one thing: The color of the covers is inconsistent (see photos). I've decided not to keep this one, so I've ordered another RR canoe and figure I don't need two. Here's the knife:

The rules are pretty basic.

1. You must have started a thread in the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blade forum previous to the start of this contest
2. You can't have owned a comparable knife (a lockback canoe is fine, a canoe of a different size is fine, brand doesn't matter)

I'm going to carry and use this one until I get a new one in the mail, so it will be lightly used. I doubt you'd be able to tell. When I get the replacement in the mail I'll use a random number generator to choose a winner, so only one post per person please.

Im in please. Ive never owned a canoe and would love to feel it in hand. Thank you for the GAW!

I'm in!
I haven't ever gotten a canoe, but I do admire the looks of that pattern.
Thank you for the chance.

Please include me in. I have a Buck canoe, but at 3 5/8' closed, I think it is smaller than the RR. If i am mistaken, exclude me out.

I'd like to be in on this one. I've never owned a canoe pattern. I've looked at them a handful of times, but never purchased one. Thanks for the opportunity.

Not an entry, since I own several Rough Rider, Taylor-Schrade, and Buck canoes of various types ("regular", lockback, cannitler) and various handle materials (amber jigged bone, celluloid, stag), and plan to order others relatively soon. (I haven't pined for a yellow one yet, but this one looks good.)

But thanks for the generous GAW, Carboniferous!:thumbup: And I, having become something of a canoe fanatic, obviously encourage anyone who has not yet discovered the magic of the canoe pattern to enter! ;):p Good luck, everyone! :D

Not an entry as I have a canoe pattern just wanted to say this is very generous of you.:thumbup: Good luck to all.

I'm in if a Baby Butterbean does not count.

If you've only owned a Baby Butterbean or the smaller model of RR canoe I say you're in. The size difference is significant enough for a 3 3/38" canoe to be a new experience.

The "well" in the center fits three fingers perfectly and my pinky wraps around the bolster making for a very comfortable grip. Really liking the pattern.

I've owned 3 RR Canoes, decent knives. I gave 2 away to friends who admired them, and kept the one I was given (obviously). I Also have a Queen Canoe gifted to me by PMEW :) So not an entry please, but thanks for a cool giveaway

I have no canoes. I've never even *seen* one live and in person. I'd like a shot to win! Thanks for the giveaway.

I don't have any canoe-like at the moment. I had ordered 6 Rough Rider knives including a canoe in August, but some postal worker probably liked them more than i did, because the package had vanished when I went to pick it up from the Post office....

The canoe pattern really had my head scratching, that is until I won one in a GAW. It's like a Spyderco. You get it as soon as you get it in your hand. It comfortably locks in your grip! Perfect three or four finger grip.
