Giveaway has ended

I'll probably get the new RR tomorrow, figured I'd bump this one more time in case anyone who wanted to enter missed it.

Alright, the package still isn't here but I'm going to go ahead and pick a winner anyway:

9th post (only counting entries) means the winner is SA Condor!! Congrats! I'll get your prize in the mail on Monday whether or not the new one has come in.

Thank you kind sir! I really look forward to putting this guy to use :) Sounds like the canoe pattern really locks into your grip real well. I like the sound of that!

Congrats, SA Condor!:thumbup: I bet you'll like that canoe, if your experience is anything like mine!
Thanks for the generous GAW, Carboniferous, and I hope you like your new canoe better! :D

Congratulations SACondor I think you'll really like the canoe pattern. Carboniferous kudos to you for your generosity.

Well, the RR Canoe finally found its way down to me. I'm very pleased. This thing is literally hair popping sharp! Thanks again Carboniferous!! The inconsistent coloring doesn't bug me at all. I've been carrying and using it the last week. A quick stroping on my pants and it's back to popping the hairs off. Also, this is my first experience with a Canoe patten, and I must admit, I like it!! Especially when using the main spear, that finger grove really locks your hand into the grip. Without further ado . . .

Thanks for the update, SA Condor! Good to hear that you're enjoying the canoe!:thumbup: Better be careful; I got a canoe and found out I liked the pattern, and I now find that I have about a dozen canoes and counting!:D

Congratulations on receiving that canoe! Rough Rider can make some very decent knives. That looks like a keeper.

I noticed that RR makes a Mini Canoe. I think that one might be next on the list to try out. What are some of your favorite Canoes?

Ive never owned a canoe, and I have never owned a rough rider. I would be curious to check this out. I am in!

Just a bit late I'm afraid. But pick one up if you get a chance. I believe you will like it.

Ha - I guess it helps to read more than just the first post! I never knew just how inexpensive these were. I'll have to check some out.

I mentioned in the Rough Rider thread that because of their low cost, that I would have passed by assuming they weren't any good. Most gas station stuff is so cheaply made that they can be dangerous! But boy was I surprised by this knife! For the cost, these knives are worth their cost several times over.

Thanks again Carboniferous for opening my eyes! Great first knife to win in a GAW.

Not an entry - just want to say what a nice gesture this is. I've got a RR MOP Canoe from about six years ago, and the build quality is very nice.

Methinks whoever wins this yellow RR Canoe will like it.

ETA: oops - I should have read through the thread first. :o

There's not a huge amount of variation in the canoe pattern, so most of my canoes differ primarily in cover materials. I have stag canoes that I really like from Buck, Colt, Rough Rider, and Schrade I*XL. I have RR canoes in amber jigged bone ( "regular", lockback, dogleg lockback mini, and a smaller 3-blade cannitler) and gunstock checked bone. I have canoes from Imperial (both large and small with cracked ice celluloid covers), Taylor-Schrade Old Timer, and Taylor-Schrade Uncle Henry. All but one of these have stainless blades. I have a Colt canoe with titanium coated carbon steel blades and G-10 handles. I have a green pick-bone Hen and Rooster mini canoe. I may enjoy the stag canoes a bit more than the others, but I like all of them a LOT! :D

Doh! Didn't notice this was old. But would have gone great with my yellow Barlow and ET.
