Thanks, coyote711 ..... this is very very cool. As I mentioned in a pm, I had a Case yellow cv soddie jr. before, but sold it off because the blade has a bit too much belly for my tastes. But when I saw the pic you posted ...

... I got mighty nostalgic. Again, thanks. :)

Off to pick a knife for my upcoming giveaway, mnblade

count me in if it's not to late. I love my sod busters, case and my custom by Keith Johnson

I'm not "namin' names" because I'm afraid I'd leave someone out, but as the title says, this giveaway is inspired by the generosity other members have shown - in both formal giveaways and in other ways!

The knife is a yellow Case Sodbuster Jr. CV. The blade is good & tight when open and just a hair off from closing dead center in the liners. As you can see, I've taken a little belly off the blade - I like it better this way, and hope you will too! ;)

Well, I was the winner of this fine and generous giveaway from coyote711, and the knife is finally in my hands (as per our agreement, he shipped it to my mom in Florida and she just arrived for a visit, bringing the knife with her).

In his original post, coyotoe711 said the soddie jr. was "just a hair off from closing dead center in the liners." Well, sure this knife might not be "perfect" -- but it's EXCELLENT. It has ferocious snap and I LOVE the way he took some of the belly off the blade. I had a yella soddie before that I liked, but I could never shake that feeling that the blade profile had too much belly for my liking, so I sold it off to a fellow forum member. Well, this modified version suits me perfectly. I can't get over how much I like it. Right now I'm toting it and a little Victorinox Rambler for the beer bottle opener, screwdrivers, etc. and it's a great carry combination. Very pocketable and covers all the bases.

Thanks a million, coyote711!

That's great that it got there, Mark and that it is such a fine knife
Good on you, Keith!

And DaPro...well...

Hey Mark! I'm glad you like it! Yeah, it's amazing what taking off a little belly did for that knife. (The marks on the pivot pin are where I squeezed it in a bench vise to take out a little blade wobble).

Enjoy the knife Mark!

DaPro & kidcoyote: I'd suggest checking the dates on these giveaway threads before entering them, and perhaps  even reading them ..... this giveaway ended about a month and a half ago.
