... I don't know why my story got posted to another thread. It was meant for here:

When I was younger and was starting to carry knives I got a couple of those tiny Winchester brand knives you used to be able to get at Walmart. Of course they were not sharp at all. A friend of mine owned a taco shop so I'd try to visit as often as possible 😁. One of those times I noticed the taco man sharpening his knives. He seemed "competent". So I asked him if he would sharpen my pocket knife. He was a nice dude and it wasn't busy that day so he said he'd leave it shaving sharp. He starting grinding the blade with his sharpening stone and he kept doing it for a very long time. I kept asking if he was done and he kept saying "not yet", "Doesn't look like it". Long story short, by the time he was "done" the belly of the blade was gone... and the knife was still pretty dull. Way pointier though. 😅
