I am in a great mood today.Yesterday I received a great knife from John (JK Handmade Knives) that I had ordered for my son. As a bonus John did/included some stuff he didn't need to to really make my son's first custom a memorable one.:thumbup: And fall is in the air, my favorite season.

I have done a few giveaways in the Traditional forum, but as of late I find myself posting in here more often. So here is my first W&SS giveaway.

The rules...you must have five posts in W&SS, Traditional, or the Schrade forum to enter. Or five posts of any combination of the three forums.
For the giveaway...

I sometimes stray into General and read those "what survival knife" or "EDC" type threads. I always see someone say "brand X" is the greatest thing since sliced bread.Then they post a pic of "brand X" in mint condition.

So I want to see used knives . Either your EDC or favorite woods knife. Scratches,patina, missing coatings, dinged up scales,....you know a knife that has been actually used.

For the prize...

It is almost Hunting season so I thought this would do..An almost mint Robeson #2 Bird&Trout. (hint it would make a great first hunting knife for a kid hint ) The Schrade 8OT stockman is not included in the giveaway.It is in the photo for a size scale.

Show off your favorite user in all its used glory and pick a number from 1-1000 in your post. I'll let it run to 9pm EST Sunday 9-6th. And post a winner by random generator on Sunday night/Monday morning.

I too love the look of a well-used blade. My favourite knives have all been around the block a few times, and they show it. They are still 100% functional and well-maintained, but they have patinas, worn coatings, a few scuffs on the handles, and so on.

Here's my submission for the contest. It is my EDC knife, which is a small carbon steel scandi with padauk handles. This blade has been my constant companion since I finished it, about a year ago. Since then, the padauk has darkened and the patina has transformed almost constantly. I like the contrast between the patina and wear on the flats and the polished cutting edge.

I'll pick 888 as my number!

Here is one of my favorite users. My Busse ASH-LE. Its been through ALOT with me and is still kicking. The Scrap Muk has since been made to look like the ASH as has the Busse AD at the bottom.

Here's my edc/woodsknife for the pasty 2&1/2 months..it's seen allot of food use as well as bushcrafting use so it's sporting a heavy patina...Carved up a 3lb ham on my last camping trip

My favorite user right now is probably my Busse SS. I modded it, took the recurve out of the blade and convexed the edge (by hand on a sheet of glass, then sandpaper over mousepad). I stripped the finish it gets used quite a bit.

these get used quite a bit as well.

this one gets carried every day, and used a ton also.
