Now that is a well-used knife! Wow!
It sure is. As you see the patina is so advanced it almost looks like a camo job.
The spine of the blade has a dozen or more small chips. The leather handle was worn slippery smooth. It bears signs of many many many sharpenings; the edge has aquired a minute recurve near the ricasso.
The handle was coming loose... But I finally got around to fixing that up, I'm gonna take it out soon and put it through it's paces. The thing is a beast, big 'ole slab of 1095 about 0.22" thick. When you hold this knife you get this weird feeling that it's probably going to outlive the hell out of you.
