Giving away knives.

I give knives to friends who express an interest. Not because I can afford to, 'cause I can't, but because it makes me happy. I always ask for a coin in return to avoid the old folk tale that if a knife is given as a gift, the relationship of the giver and recipient will be severed unless something such as a small coin, dove or a valuable item is exchanged for the gift, rendering "payment". I don't run into many people who carry doves in their pockets, so a quarter works. I guess the Tuscarora branch of my family tree made me a bit superstitious. The Irish branch made me like beer. Not sure which branch caused an incurable addiction to sharp pointy things.....

PM2 is on my list but appears it is no longer made? PM2 is great give away that is high end. good one!

i am looking for one, so pm me and we set up something in the proper area. or if you know where i can get one pm me plz.

I luv given away knives . Either new ones for gifts or knives I don't use anymore . I try to give higher end ones to people that really appreciate them . I have so many that I love for every use ,that the ones I don't get the boot and its way funner than selling them .

My collection has stayed fairly small over the years because I always end up giving blades away to friends who don't have one. Everyone needs a reliable knife, and its nice to be able to provide one here and there. Basically the only ones that have made my "always keeping list" is a Leatherman Micra from my kids a few years ago and a Rift 950 from my fiance this past Christmas.

I try not to buy anything that I will want to give away lol! I've also stopped buying cheap knives.

Several years ago, the classmate of one of my kids joined the Navy, telling us soon after that he'd been accepted to try out for SEAL training. He's good kids, from a broken home, that just never got any breaks in life.

Before he flew out, in a fit of generosity, I gave him my Sebenza.

He promptly stuck it in his pocket, went to the airport, got in line, and allowed the TSA to throw it in the trash.

Never, ever, again.

That is painful just to read!

On another note, it's a bit funny to see how many people have posted without even reading the first post.
