Giving Back...Time for a Giveaway and Let's See Those Odd Ducks

Congrats on 500 posts, Peruna, and thanks for the generous giveaway.

I've never seen anyone but RR make this pattern, so it is pretty odd. Since taking this photo I've added the yella comp version as well.

Full sized trapper with trick locking main thumbhole leaf-shaped clip. Depressing the secondary Wharnie unlocks the clip.

Thanks for the chance and congrats. Man, that is my kind of knife.

This is probably the oddest I have:

NOT AN ENTRY thanks for your gesture but other people have less Stockmans than I do.

Oddest knife I've got is a Bulldog Arizona Saddle knife in carbon. Couldn't find a picture to copy, no camera. It's single clip blade that can be pinched open, Barehead, Copperhead bolster, curved handle about 4" closed.Nice and thin and feels great in the hand. Looks odd though and my one has these TERRIBLE lipstick coloured acrylic scales, sold to me as Plum coloured (I thought a dark red or blue)but this is lurid!

I'd like to join in the fun. Here's my most recent "odd duck", a Schrade Heritage stockman with a small clip instead of a spey. Thanks for the chance!

My odd duck is really a chicken:

What is more traditional than nutting your own roosters? A Kutmaster caponizing knife, all stainless. Both blades sharpen up nicely, and I have used the caponizer while camping for carving tasks.

I think this Case Tiny Trapper is the oddest in my collection.

Thanks for the chance Wayne!!

Thank you for the opportunity, please include me in the drawing.

As my collection of slipjoints and traditional folders is still growing, most of my knives fall in the classic category with no real odd ducks among the lot. This said, I am now inspired to keep an eye open for anything funky out there in the "wild".

Best I can do is offer an odd picture of a not at all unusual knife, the Case medium stockman, cv with amber jigged bone scales. At least the knife's "guardian" is a bit of an odd duck :)

I can't get a clean pic of either of my oddballs- a Geo. Schrade wire jack and a Japanese higonokami. Feel free to DQ me if needed. :)

Well, this has traditional German construction, so I suppose it qualifies. And I've never managed to find another, despite looking around Europe for some time. It's kind of unusual to me because of the serrations; not something normal for German folders, even 25 years ago when I first started carrying it.

Thanks very much for the chance

I haven't really photographed my "odd duck" because, well, it's just that. One night, late, late, and perhaps after returning home from too much rejoicing, I ended up on the Bay. 4 days later, I found myself the confused owner of a particularly unnatural green-colored Rough Rider trapper. I guess I'll keep 'er :o

Okay, the giveaway is over. I went to random.org and had it select a random number. The number was....6. So, the winner is yablanowitz. I will drop him a PM and ship the knife out.

Thanks to all for participating and making this a fun place. I certainly enjoyed seeing some of the odder knives out there.

Nicely done, Wayne. Thanks for your generosity and community spirit.

Thanks! I think this is the first time I've won anything worth having. :D I'll be sure to post up some pix when it arrives.
