Giving ESEE a shot

Although they are both big stout knives comparing the Esee Junglas to the BK-9 is not realy fair comparison. The Junglas has a longer blade, a different grind, different handles, and a different weight than the BK-9. The knife to compare to the Esee Junglas is the Ontario RTAK-2. The have similar length, handles, etc. The Junglas is about twice the cost of the RTAK-2 but comes with a better sheath, a better warranty, and sometimes a better fit and finish.

give us a shot of the palm swell of those scales, if you would

So I like all of them alot, but the 3 and 4 stick out to me. Would it be good to get both. I will not be too hard to convince ;)

I like the 3 better than the 4. Not much shorter than the 4 and the thinner blade is still plenty tough while slicing much better.

I have (and love) both the 3 and the 4. It really depends on what you want to use it for.

I have both a Junglas and a Becker BK9. Have not spent a lot of time with the Junglas chopping (waiting for camping season) but will soon. Overall the Junglas does have a flat blade profile and is longer. The grip is not as comfortable and locked in as the BK9 but does provide more room to slide back for more chopping power. Once it stops raining here I'll get out and try 20 swings with each for a comparison.
