Agreed with the above an AMS is nice or also if looking for smaller, check out the culti

Welcome to the Busse forum.

You have given a size parameter, which is helpful, but what do you see as the role of this knife, what tasks do you expect? Is it going to be an EDC, for general purpose use; or more of a hunting knife; or ??? Do you like your small knives thin or stout?

It's going to be my general utility blade. I strip a lot of 30-100A cable, so that will probably be it's duties mostly. I prefer thinner blades, but I can make do with anything really. Some of the other cable I strip doesn't like getting cut by any of my other tools ( or is too big to be) so I have to use knives, and my blades get dull relatively quick, even my serrated ones. Honestly, even if if found a miracle tool that made my life super easy with some of the stuff I cut, it's an excuse to use my new blade.

And I don't know why, but I'm having trouble placing my order on the site. Once I get off work, I'll shoot Busse a message. I'm probably stupid and made a simple mistake typing in my info somewhere, but it's annoying to say the least.

There is actually a Muk for sale in the classified section that you may want to check out. Regardless of what you choose, good luck with the search.

Really? Could you PM me the page if you have the time? I found a couple Busse Muks, but I don't know which you are referring to. I am mostly looking for the scrapyard version due to te amazing handle, but I may still check out a Busse model while in at it.

Dead.... You're better off just calling the shop.....

I'd have to call overseas with that, and the phone companies we get to choose from out here destroy you with charges if you call the states. Calling would be like buying another knife just to order 1 from them over the phone.

AMS! Great user knife. I EDC'd mine for a while but it's been promoted to my dedicated elk, deer and hog skinning knife once I strip it. I've really been diggin' the stripped INFI lately. But you can't go wrong with any Busse, or kin. It won't be your last anyway. They are simply the best.

I don't have any other smaller Busse knives to compare it to, but I'd have to agree with the AMS suggestions as well. Here's mine:

^my thoughts exactly brother haha.
How does the process work with them through paypal? Do I send them payment with all of my info? Does anyone know?

Ah, OK. That sounds like some heavy duty work. INFI is up to the task, but it seems to me that handle ergos are going to be important here. You want a knife that you can hold tightly for this hard work, that doesn't cause your gripping muscles to fatigue over time. Having not owned one, but only reading comments here, the AMS handle might be on the small side for this application. One idea is to order it with liners to bulk up the grip, or consider another Busse knife with a more substantial handle.

I wear gloves when I can, and I can always add some para cord to the handle to beef it up if the handle isn't to my liking. I have small hands anyway, so the issue will probably be minimal. I usually pinch the blade between my thumb and index finger and then have the cable bent in my other hand to cut the insulation. It doesn't take much effort as long as I have a relatively keen edge.

The only thing keeping me from getting a beefier blade is my higher is really strict on what we can carry. As much as I want to have some of the medium to larger sized models, I don't want to push my luck.

You might also want to consider the Scrap Yard 311 for your need. It has a 3.5" blade and is 8" overall length. The Resiprene C handles are comfortable, and the SR101 steel is said to hold a good edge. Here is a link: Scrap Yard 311

I do believe that they charge extra if you use paypal.... Better find a way yo get them your CC information.

A fellow member was kind enough to let this little baby go. This thing is great. It feels nice in the hand and the handles are much better that I anticipated. Now, all I have to do is wait for the sheath to come in.

Sorry for the lousy pics, I still haven't invested in a good camera out here yet.

So how did I do guys?

Man you did well!!!! You're going to love that little thing. Be sure to use it and sharpen it and repeat. And don't be afraid to be rough with it. INFI is amazing stuff and the knives look even better when they're all scratched and loved :)
