Giving thanks

My girlfriend is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) at UW and part of her class requires her to keep a weekly "Gratitude Journal" that we work on together. Every week, we both jot down 5 things that we are grateful for in our lives, regardless if we consider them big or small, then read it aloud to each other. It has really opened our eyes to how much we have in life, and how much we take for granted. It is such a good practice, and has really made us both more self-aware to the bounty of goodness still left in the world (if you take the time to appreciate it).

I would suggest/recommend EVERYONE start doing this as well - it takes 10 minutes a week and can really help if you struggle with stress/depression/anxiety (as I do) and start appreciating the smaller/finer things in life.

On this topic - I would like to say that I am thankful to Kyle (@ManOfSteel89) for introducing me to CPK blades - he has always lauded them as practical workhorses that are backed by some of the greatest/most-talented folks in the industry. It took me a few months to get my hands on one, but I'm glad I did!

Nate, Jo, Mark and Lorien - You are all very hardworking and dedicated to your craft. I truly appreciate all the insight, humor, hands-on testing, communication, advice and diligence as you continue to grow/expand your business. It has truly been a pleasure anytime I have had correspondence with you all, and I feel glad to be supporting your business and family(ies).

CPK (sub)Forumites: You guys are awesome, and a little eccentric at times (which I love! :D). A wealth of knowledge, advice, glorious drool-worthy photos, constructive feedback and a general sense of comradery not found in other areas of this site. Like @Shark01 said above, this is the best place on BF to hang out! I feel pretty privileged to be a part of this community! :)

I'm thankful that our Canadian Thanksgiving is already over and I won't have to eat turkey again for another twelve months. Happy Thanksgiving America.

Just got back from the doggie beach, Del Mar CA. Livvie is very happy, wet and tired. This is her annual TG tradition :)

OMG Mat, looks like it's everyone's tradition in your area. Place is packed! Looks like you two had fun!

Believe it or not, that particular dog beach is much more packed than this on any given Sunday. It's a seasonal locale and not open to dogs all the time, specially when the San Diego Fair at Del Mar and the Del Mar horse racing season is in full swing. After school opens in Sept, dogs can run around off-leash, otherwise leashed which is no fun for any pooch. There were actually 3 of us as we still invite her Momma over to come join us too ;)

I know my dog ingests quite a bit of water when playing fetch in the lake. Does the salt water make her sick?

Sometimes if she ingests too much ocean water if we let her just go crazy and play for hours. We really have to put our feet down and limit her playtime as she's getting older (just over 5 years old now) as she gets sore because of muscle fatigue for the next day or so. But yes that salt water both makes them vomit and inflicts with soft / runny stool (TMI). Soon as she sees the leash being picked up, she grabs her ball and runs under the bridge strutting sideways instead of coming toward us. She's the only dog which likes to play with a larger size (volleyball sized) ball because her "geometry" is very well suited to it. Other dogs just have tennis balls to play with and to fetch :D
