did you already have a fat ash1 before purchasing this one that just arrived?

because the thread title says to me that you had zero and were looking unsuccessfully for your first one.

did someone reach out to you and sell you the one that you're now showing off?

Your very first sentence sets up the premise that you can't find any ASH-1's. This kind of post can pull on people's nice guy side and say man, I got one I can sell this guy. I think that was calculated by how you worded everything. I would bet the guy that sold you that one would think differently if they would have known it was not your first.

The post should have said something like......I have had an ASH1 for x amount of time and would love to add another to my collection, why are they so hard to find?......that could have still shook loose the one you got but it would have been honest. If you got both from this thread why did you wait to disclose the other? So many what ifs and conjecture, at least you have shown us who you are. Thanks for that.
 
I didn’t buy the one I just got from a member here. Found it elsewhere. I certainly wasn’t attempting to prey on anyone’s sense of charity either. I was clear that I was looking for an Ash -1, If I had one already is beside the point. I didn’t state that I didn’t have one already and that shouldn’t matter anyway. I didn’t take advantage of anyone’s good nature and ended up finding the knife I wanted on another forum. You dudes can’t be happy for a guy? Geez.

Misunderstanding -

Be prepared, you’ll probably have about 8 ASH-1’s by this time next year. I rarely find anything I’m searching for, as soon as I find it.. more magically appear. I was warned that INFI was highly addictive, I didn’t listen. Lesson learned, no regrets.

Not sure what the OP's story is, but I can attest to sometimes having multiple responses to a grail hunt in a short time...
My grail was the Off Duty. I hunted & ISO'd for 1 for about 5 years or so. The last post I made on a thread about them got me 2 replies in a short time, & I did deals for both. The 3rd was an ebay auction for the proto a few years later. Sometimes when it rains, it rains hard lol 🤙

Those Off Duty’s remind me of of a blade I got off a Hog in Europe.

I think it mattered. You purposely didn't say you had one already and the entire thread was based on that assumption which you worded your post to be that way. Especially when you make the remark that you didnt say you had one, that was intentional. You can sugar coat it all ya want, I honestly don't care at this point, you have already shown me how you operate, good luck on your future knife endeavors!

Jharp. Best slow down. The Busse community is a tight knit group. If I would have posted a WTB thread 3 months ago I’d have been back to share my score for a CG version. Then the fatty would have been icing on the cake. Just change your perspective in this case.

Very nice! 👍👍 I'm getting senile, but I was kinda close...lol 😅 So it was '07 for the steriles, thank you! (I believe Busse had some laser repair service issues for a while that particular year IIRC, but the side benefit? Lots of cool sterile models & variants for shows & ganza's while it was down 😉👍👍)

What the hell, I may as well comment.

The original request post also gave me the impression jharpphoto possessed nary an ASH1. Due to this misunderstanding, I carefully reread the OP. Didn’t specify one way - or the other.

Subterfuge? Or honest mistake? Beat’s me. I’m calling it a wash, and moving forward. The world’s crazy enough already.
