I got my hands on the grail of grails. A true Busse masterpiece and a sword that needed a name. Say hello to Gladius Venandi (Sword of the Hunter).

This two handed long Gladius comes with mammoth bark and meteorite handles. Wow!

I solicited my brothers to help me name this beast based on my desire to name it around the concept that the handle material came from space. My twin suggested the latin version of Sword of the Hunter based on the Orion constellation, which I thought was pretty cool since the Orion constellation is my favorite and I've seen depictions of him having a sword hanging from his belt - which Busse somehow stole and slapped their logo on and I now own. :)

Here it is with the rest of the family - my lucky ganza snag, the custom FMV14 to the left and a one-of-a-kind Gladius on the right (another ganza blade I was able to pick up off the exchange).

When I hold Gladius Venandi I feel like Ragnar with the Sword of the Kings, except cooler. :)

 these are pretty sweet, n that long Gladius has liners?

was curious if these guys were safe queens, or if they might see some occasional action? ;)
No liners, just the tan micarta running the length of the handle.

Oh yeah, these are safe queens for sure. There may come a time when they get used but I'll have had to run through all my ammo first and be forced to go medieval on fools to protect the farm. So they'll probably get used in 2021 or 2022 with the way the world is heading. ;)

Surprisingly it handles better than the smaller gladius even though this big guy is over 3 lbs. Weight is more balanced so it doesn't feel top heavy. Nothing will ever handle better than the FMV14 pictured. It's magical.
I remember seeing that FMV14 and FMV8 combo when it went on sale. I regret that I didn't have enough money to try and buy it. They're gorgeous.

Hell, I wish I had the skill to grind my two FMV14 like that.

Nice snag G! I didn't even know one like that existed! Let us know when you open the Busse Museum! HAHAHA! Outstanding! Freaking meteorite  :thumbsup::thumbsup:
