Still getting a lot of questions about the steel i lug around, so i humped it all out with me today. mostly there is no need for explanation but i thought i'd do a little setup at a camp site i sometimes flop down at to show them off right (or atleast as best as i can.) i went on the flyfishing hunt for the Longnosed Gar never caught any before. found a hole with 4 in it, managed to snag one! but alas i was alone and got no evidence. haha.
keep in mind these are all of my HARD use knives. All have stood the test of time now and i would not hesitate to take any one of them into the bush with me or recommend them to a any of you.
1-my regular gear. none of it needs an intro i don't think But....
snugpak sleeka force pack (perfect)
maxped monkey admin pouch (carries last ditch stuff and med kit)
the rest you know all too well i'm sure....

MMHW utility skinner (this thing's done everything i've ever asked, and things i never should of asked of it.) looks good doesn't it pitdog? haha

Breeden bushcrafter. this is my newest and it's really starting to see it's share of belt time.

Jack Walden Custom (if anyone knows this maker please chime in, i am making another dedicated thread for this one as a follow up to the 440C bushcraft thread)

Bruce Culberson customs. Necker(with matching firesteel) and belt knife. unbelievable pair once i get my fillet knife from him and MAYBE a hatchet (nudge nudge) i may never need another knife!!! scary thought...

Nice knives. They all look great. Except for your crump, I see you are into a muted natural earthy look to your knives. Nothing wrong with that! Everyone of them looks like a good user to me.

Graet looking set of sharps ya have there buddy, looks like you have all the bases well and truly covered !!!!!

And thanks for the dig !!!!!!:p

Man thats a lot of steel - how do you choose what to take, I would never get out the door!

great stuff man... i love those Bruce Culberson knives...:) i definitely need to pick up a blade from him soon...

well sometimes, like today, i just humped it all!!! haha

but really it usually depends on the situation. truthfully, though, i have a folder in my pocket or in my maxped admin kit. 99% the VIC farmer.
a backup blade in my bag (always the MMHW)
a necker (crumps or culberson)(usually in my maxped admin kit or in my pocket/neck with the folder in the admin kit)
and a blade on my hip (culberson, breeden, walden)

so yes, i carry 4 blades everytime i'm out for more than an afternoon. plus a hatchet.

anytime Pitdog! haha

I believe you!

My buddy and I were flyfishing a local river for smallmouth bass one summer at the time the gar where running upriver to spawn. None of them would take a fly, but my buddy finally managed to hook one. Turns out it was snagged....

Anway, I got out my camera and waited as the battle went on for what seemed like forever. The fish finally wore down and as my buddy bent to pick it up, it made a final surge and broke the tippet! No photo!

I still tell him he dreamed the whole thing up and it never happened. :p

Stay sharp,
desmobob

Lots of nice pieces of steel there! Looks like you are more friendly toward the non-flashy colored handles.

These are great shots of the great collection (or rather I say accumulation ?).
All of them has it's own unique looking , so amazing. Thanks.

thanks for all the great comments guys. you are all right i absolutely am a fan of muted colors. mostly it just feels right to be out when i fit in to my surroundings. i don't like to stand out, i don't like to be the center of attention. flying under the radar is more my style naturally i guess. it's not a knock against all the blaze orange beauties i see on here! i love it all, it's just not what i'm into i guess, never thought about it until you guys pointed it out to be honest!
