Mistwalker,
Your scales look so green..
Are they that green in person as well? I know the desert tan ones are supposed to be green, but mine just don't seem to be. In your picture though they look really green.
Is that just from more use?
Yep, they daken up from a good bit of use...dirt and body oils I guess. They lighten back up some when you wash them but darken again quickly. All my micarta handled knives do this.
I believe that is just from more use.
Mistwalker: What all tasks do you do in the wilderness that the serrations specifically help/provide advantages? Thanks
Mainly they come in handy making notches on hearth boards and stuff without having to baton and risk busting up the "board" in the process, but in my experiences they also come in handy for aggressive whittling in harder woods where I want to remove a lot of material quickly and looks aren't important in the first stages and they help in quickly making multi-textured fatwood and heartwood tinders for starting fires with a fire steel.
