Glass shaptons , Worth the money ?

I think it's a bit arrogant and "self righteous" to accuse someone of being "irresponsible" because he disagrees with your sharpening philosophy, and demands a higher degree of craftsmanship and refinement.

Does one need to polish an edge to my specifications? No! Of course not.

However, some of us take great pride and satisfaction in doing our work the best that it can be done.

$500 stones indeed. Sorry I have none. But neither do I have any K-Mart "Blue light special" equipment.
 
Ok- I LOVE THESE STONES

it doesnt matter what grit, the edge will be CRAZY

16k isnt overkill IMO, its a pretty decent grabby edge- Also got my knife to HHT-4 with little effort (stropped that edge a few times at 0.25u)

The coarse grits are friggin BUZZSAWS



- Might save for a 30k
