Glenn Ford Died Last Night

Glen Ford, like Stewart, refused to let his agent publisize his military decorations. A modest hero.

That right there says more about them than anything doesn't it?

A far cry from "celebrities" that took their own camera crews with them to New Orleans after Katrina.....

Henry Fonda was not even eligable to be drafted because he had two kids, so he enlisted in the navy and served on a battleship in the Pasific.
I guess the Jane Fonda apple fell pretty far from the tree.

I can't even imagine the anger and heartbreak that Hank felt that he would not talk to her for all those years, untill shortly before his death. A rift of something like 20-25 years or something.

I just watched Gilda again recently. Maybe TCM will do a retrospective of his films. Probably the last of an era. RIP.

I just saw The Money Trap about 10 days ago, Glen Ford, Rita Hayworth, Ricardo Montalban, and Joseph Cotten.

He really was a great actor, He will be missed.

I recall seeing this character who taught gun handling, fast draw, etc. to the actors in some of those western movies. I remember he said Glen Ford was one of the best. Just thought I would mention it.

That was probably Arvo Ojala, who sadly passed away himself last December at the age of 85.
