More evidence to support the claim that Glennbad is baaaad man showed up, announced, in my mailbox earlier this week. A 2 3/4" closed Schrade Walden 218 circa '46 - '73, now with ivory scales. Thanks Glenn! Couldn't be more pleased! I need to get some pictures in natural light to show the true beauty of the ivory....
It's been a while since I have posted anything in this thread. I am finally starting to get some traction in the shop again, so the work should start to flow better.
I usually mod a couple knives every year to raffle off for a fundraiser dinner our company hosts to help local charities. Here's what I did this year. The knives were Frontier stockmans like this one.
This one was fun. The customer wanted something unique. I had some edge pieces of ivory, with flake and inclusions. The hafting exposed the inclusions.
Thanks! Here's one other one that is kinda special to me. My aunt's husband was an avid gardener. I wanted to make him something he could use around the garden. I had this Schrade florists knife that I decided to mod and send to him. Here's what it looked like.
Unfortunately, when I went to start the mod last year, this had happened to the knife.
Luckily, I had some guts from a trapper, so this is what it ended up as.
Sadly, by the time I finished this recently, my aunt's husband had died unexpectedly. I still sent it to her, who knows, maybe she will work in the garden with it.
Glenn you do incredible work. I know I've probably driven you crazy with all the knives I've sent you but when my project you're working on is finished I would like to send you some more to have done in something other than stag and I promise not to send you so many at once this time.
Really glad you're feeling better you've had your share of health issues and tragedy with in your family lately. I sure hope you have some smooth sailing ahead my friend you certainly deserve it.
